Taking place January 20 and 21 at the Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings.

Are you a contractor, trainee or apprentice already working on listed or traditional buildings? Or planning to increase your work in this area? Then this could be the ideal course to help you get it right first time.

The course is delivered by experienced craftsperson and trainer Richard Jordon, so the focus will be on roofing.

This could be a first step for someone wishing to gain a full Heritage NVQ Level 3 Diploma as it counts towards the full qualification.

Included are:

  • Refreshments and sandwich lunch on both days
  • All course materials
  • A guided tour of the conservation work being carried out on the Grade I Listed Main Mill by Historic England supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund

You will gain an understanding of how to repair and maintain traditional buildings; an understanding of relevant legislation and guidance; learn more about traditional materials and methods and learn more about maintaining safe working practices.

Places are free as the course is supported by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation. Book early to reserve your place.

Booking is absolutely essential as places are strictly limited. Email Richard Jordan by 2pm on Friday 17th January at crafttrainingservices@gmail.com marking your email FLAXMILL PRE1919 with your contact details.
