McPhillips have been awarded the £5.7m contract to build a 68 bedroom Travelodge hotel in the Southwater area of Telford Town Centre by Telford & Wrekin Council.

Construction of this 2600m2 five storey structure will begin this month and it is planned to open in Spring 2018.

The new hotel will provide 35 family rooms (3 with disabled access) and 33 standard rooms on the upper floors while the ground floor has been designed to provide retail space for future use.

An external works package has also been included within the contract which will see the provision of an inspiring public realm including high quality paving, innovative lighting and feature fountains.

A Meet the Buyer event is planned in connection with this project at the Visualisation Centre, Marches Growth Hub, Telford Innovation Campus, Shifnal Road, Priorslee, TF2 9NT from 12:00-14:00 on Thursday 29th June 2017.
